Mountain lion attacks California boy
Authorities say a mountain lion has attacked a 6-year-old boy hiking near a Northern California winery.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department reported that the boy was attacked on a hiking trail Sunday afternoon in Cupertino and is expected to survive. The extent of his injuries has not been immediately released.
The whereabouts of the animal is unknown, and authorities have closed hiking trials in the area.
The sheriff’s department said its deputies and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife are investigating the attack.
