Thousand Palms intersection re-opens

The intersection of Bob Hope Drive and Varner Road is back open in Thousand Palms. It’s been closed since Monday’s flooding.

Crews today cleared tons of mud off of Varner Road near the McDonald’s and Flying J. They were also digging out the intersection at Bob Hope Drive.

Now, traffic headed to Thousand Palms can use the Bob Hope Drive exit on the Interstate 10.

Varner Road between Bob Hope Drive and Date Palm Drive remains closed.
