Motorcycle crash affects traffic in Palm Desert
One person has been taken to the hospital with major injuries after a motorcycle collided with a car in Palm Desert Wednesday morning.
The crash is affecting traffic at the intersection of Gerald Ford Drive and Portola Avenue, which is expected to be closed until about 3 p.m. while authorities investigate the collision, according to the Palm Desert Police Department.
The accident happened just before 8 a.m.
The Riverside County Fire Department said the driver of the motorcycle was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries and the person driving the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash. They don’t believe alcohol or drugs played a factor. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Deputy Bryan Whitley with the Palm Desert Police Department at (760) 836-1600.
