Road construction will affect traffic in Indio Wednesday

Some temporary road closures are planned in Indio Wednesday night. A paving project will close some lanes on Highway 111 and a portion of Jackson Street will also be shut down.

According to Juan Raya, principal civil engineer, paving work along Highway 111 near Jackson Street will begin at 5 p.m. with some lane closures. Jackson Street will also be closed at the intersection of Highway 111 from 10 p.m. to midnight while road crews complete the project.

Drivers in the area should plan accordingly; expect delays or take alternate routes.
