Person of interest in custody after police find dead man near Coachella
An investigation is underway after a man was found dead Tuesday night in Coachella.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the desert area south of Avenue 47 — east of Tyler Street.
Detectives say the man died of traumatic injuries.
The Sheriff’s Department has not yet released the name of the victim, but they say they do have a person of interest in custody on other charges.
It’s still unclear how and why the man died.
