Skydiver dies in Perris
A 36-year-old man died at a skydiving facility near Perris Valley Airport, but deputies withheld virtually all details about the circumstances.
Coroner’s officials confirmed that Justin Gulley of Canyon Lake suffered deadly injuries at 12:40 p.m. Saturday, at 2091 Goetz Road, in Perris. He was pronounced dead at 1:24 p.m. Saturday.
The location is home to Perris Valley Skydiving, a business for indoor and outdoor skydiving, and a skydiving school.
Investigators were not immediately releasing any details about the circumstances surrounding Gulley’s death, a sheriff’s spokesman said today.
Friends messaged News Channel 3 and said Gulley is an experienced skydiver who had done jumps with sick children and people suffering from Cystic Fibrosis.
A friend also linked us to Gulley’s last public Facebook post, which reads in part, “In the last 4 years, I feel proud. I am proud of the decisions I’ve made, the guns I’ve stuck to, the truths I’ve told, the pain I’ve accepted & endured, and the love I am still making the center point of all I do. Just like any toddler, I’m still uncontrollable, and my curiosities can send me a stray, but just like any toddler, I’m growing… So my friends, I hope there is something in this rant that you can use in your own life, if not, I simply offer you this … Love… Spread it”
Gulley’s death is under investigation.
