Microwave fire damages Indio home

A microwave oven fire slightly damaged an Indio home, Riverside County fire officials said Sunday.

Firefighters responded at 2:44 p.m. to a report of a structure fire at a single-story home in the 40600 block of Calle Balderas.

Emergency crews found a burning microwave oven and some damage to a nearby wall.

Damage was estimated at $12,000.

No injuries were reported.
