Vehicle fire in La Quinta neighborhood

Vehicle fire in La Quinta at a residence on Avenida Cortez.

The fire was reported at 9:12 Sunday night. CALFIRE reports the vehicle was right next to a single story residential structure with exposure to an adjacent propane tank.

Witnesses describe intense flames for a short time.

Crews were able to knock down the fire without any injuries and contain it to just the vehicle.

No word on the cause.
