Owner talks ‘bb’s at the River,’ replacing Acqua Pazza

The owner of The Slice, JT’s Diner, and co-owner of the Coachella Valley’s two Maracas restaurants is opening a new restaurant at The River.

Jack Srebnik is opening ‘bb’s at The River’ where Acqua Pazza used to be. Acqua Pazza closed in December after ten years of business.

“This is the greatest location in the Coachella Valley for a restaurant,” said Srebnik. “We’re going to clean it up. Most of it will be what it was before, it worked. It’ll be a California eclectic place.”

Investor Barbara Boyajian is helping Srebnik open the new restaurant, which was named bb’s in her honor.

What can you expect to see on the menu?

“We want to make this is a fun place. Very much like Acqua Pazza … You’re going to see a variation of salads, pizzas, chicken, fish and steak,” said Srebnik.

Srebnik said he will host a job fair on Thursday, February 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and he plans to hire 125 employees, many of whom used to work at Acqua Pazza. Investor Barbara Boyajian is helping Srebnik open the new restaurant.

“Every position from dishwasher to head bartender, waitresses, bus boys, hostesses and kitchen help,” said Srebnik. Food runners, line cooks and night cleaners are also some of the positions they’ll be looking to fill.

Those interested in applying for a job are required to bring a current photo ID and should prepare to be interviewed at the job fair.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2’s Bianca Rae was told the former owner of Acqua Pazza, Jerry Keller, is very excited about Jack taking over the space and creating a new and exciting restaurant at The River.

Srebnik hopes to have bb’s at The River open for business by the end of March.
