64-year-old arrested for stealing bait bike in Palm Springs
A 64-year-old man from New York was arrested Wednesday after the Palm Springs Police Department organized an undercover operation using a marked bicycle.
Sgt. Harvey Reed said the bait bike was in place to combat recent bicycle theft in the city. Plainclothes officers set up surveillance around Palm Springs.
Peter Gicobbi of Troy, New York was seen stealing the bicycle and was arrested for grand theft. He was taken to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, Sgt. Reed said in a release.
