Harrison Ford seriously injured in Venice plane crash

Harrison Ford was injured after his small plane crashed during an emergency landing at Penmar Golf Course in Venice on Thursday afternoon. Officials couldn’t immediately confirm that it was Ford, but KABC in Los Angeles reported the information after speaking to an eye witness.

The single-engine plane reportedly crashed shortly before 2:30 p.m. onto the golf course, just west of the Santa Monica Municipal Airport, according to Federal Aviation Administration officials.

Los Angeles police said the plane made an emergency landing near Rose and Glenavon avenues. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

A witness told Eyewitness News that someone at the scene yelled out the victim was actor Harrison Ford.

Fire officials said the pilot was conscious after the crash and two bystanders arrived first to help out.

The National Transportation Safety Board was leading the investigation.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area.
