5 arrested for DUI in DHS checkpoint

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department conducted a DUI checkpoint Friday night to cut down on drunk drivers celebrating too much during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

According to police, the checkpoint was set up at 13700 Palm Drive.

Here are the stats:

Vehicles through checkpoint: 638
Vehicles screened: 608
Vehicles not screened: 35
Vehicles sent to secondary: 40
Sobriety tests conducted: 6
DUI arrests: 5
Citations issued: 7
Vehicles towed: 7
