CVUSD to teach other school districts about mobile learning
As the Coachella Valley Unified School District continues to lead the way with its Mobile Learning Initiative, other school districts throughout California and Arizona will get a first-hand look by meeting in Thermal on Wednesday.
The California school districts include Calexico Unified, Petaluma Unified, Gateway Unified, Bassett Unified and Union Unified. Officials said the districts traveling from Arizona are Crane Unified, Planada Unified, Reef Unified, Sunset Unified and Yuma Unified.
Leaders and representatives will spend the day at CVUSD’s Educational Technology Department, also called the iCenter, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The tech team will teach them about the school district’s strategy and implementation of its one-on-one Mobile Learning Initiative, according to the release.
Several of the school district’s strategic partners, including Apple Inc., AirWatch, LocknCharge and CDW-G will also be on hand to discuss their role in helping CVUSD build its Ed Tech Department.
Superintendent Darryl Adams said, “Our District is honored and humbled to be hosting districts from around the country to share what we have learned as we transform to true 21st Century education systems designed to utilize technology, content, and pedagogy to prepare students for College, Career and Citizenship.”
District leaders and representatives will end the day by touring schools and classrooms around CVUSD, officials said.
