Man arrested for 8th time in past year

Police believe they’ve found the man responsible for the burglary of two thrift stores in the past two weeks.

Officers arrested 39-year old Lorenzo Valenzuela after they noticed suspicious activity at the Angel View Thrift Store on Fargo Street in Indio. Police say they’ve arrested Valenzuela eight times in the past year for offenses ranging from trespassing to burglary.

Earlier this month, Valenzuela was arrested in connection with the March 6th burglary at the Southwest Church Thrift Store in Indio. Police say they saw him on surveillance video and were able to track him down.

He posted bail shortly after being taken into custody. On the same day, someone broke into the Martha’s Village Thrift Store. Valenzuela hasn’t been tied to that burglary.
