Local activist to run for 42nd State Assembly seat in 2016

Community activist Greg Rodriguez plans to run for the 42nd State Assembly District in 2016. Rodriguez made the announcement at the Democrats of the Desert’s Annual Activists Awards Lunch in Palm Springs Sunday.

In a statement Rodriguez said in part, “My work in activism, education, government and my role as a father are what i bring to the table.”

The Democrat is the former district director for U.S. Rep. Raul Ruiz.

The seat is currently filled by Republican Chad Mayes of Yucca Valley.
