Ducklings saved from SoCal storm drain

Firefighters rescued a family of ducklings from a storm drain in Costa Mesa Saturday, where they became trapped.

Firefighters were summoned about 8 p.m. to the 3300 block of Hyland Avenue, according to the Costa Mesa Fire Department, which tweeted photos of the rescue.

It took about 30 minutes to free the ducks.

It was unclear how the creatures managed to get into but not out of the storm drain.
