Search & rescue finds missing person in Joshua Tree National Park

A search and rescue effort in Joshua Tree National Park is now over as officials announced they found the person reported missing Thursday morning.

The 49 Palms Oasis was temporarily closed while rescuers searched the area. Officials posted the alert on Joshua Tree National Park’s Facebook page at 8 a.m.

The missing person was found around 10:30 a.m. but officials haven’t released additional information at this time.

All other areas of the park remained open during the search.
