Man arrested for burglary while out on bail

A Coachella man was arrested Sunday afternoon in connection to a home burglary in Palm Desert. Officers said 45-year-old Julio Anaya is charged with committing a felony while out on bail.

An officer with the Palm Desert Police Department was alerted to a suspicious vehicle backed onto a driveway in the 73200 block of Santa Rosa Way.

As officers approached the home, the vehicle fled and was stopped by a nearby officer patrolling the area. After investigating, officers said Anaya had stolen furniture, fixtures and mail from the residence. All stolen items were recovered and returned to the owner, officers said in the release.

Anaya was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday on charges of burglary, committing a felony while out on bail and possession of stolen credit card information.
