Grand Jury may consider Pougnet complaint
News Channel 3/CBS Local 2 received a copy of a letter from the Riverside County Grand Jury sent to Eloise Mohsin.
The letter says Mohsin’s complaint against Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet will be presented to the 2015-2016 Grand Jury, taking office on July 1.
Her complaint went to the current Grand Jury on May 12. It focuses on the mayor’s financial ties to developer Richard Meaney, alleging a conflict of interest.
Mohsin, who’s considered a long-time detractor of the mayor, also filed a complaint with the Fair Political Practices Commission, which opened an investigation last month.
The letter is not a guarantee the new jury will hear the case, it will be up to that jury to decide when they are sworn in next month.
We will continue to follow any new developments as they happen.
