2-year-old and 7-year-old pulled from pool in two separate incidents

Two children are recovering from near drowning incidents Saturday. Both were found in a pool, one in Rancho Mirage, the other in Bermuda Dunes.

The first happened just before 11:30 a.m. at the Westin Mission Hills Hotel Resort in Rancho Mirage.

CAL FIRE says a 7-year-old girl was pulled from the water and given CPR by a bystander who happened to be a registered nurse.

The girl was revived and was transported in stable condition to a local area hospital for evaluation.

Several hours later, just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday a second near drowning incident occurred.

This one on the 78600 block of Avenue 42 in Bermuda Dunes.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters say a two year old boy was found in the pool.

A bystander performed CPR and the child regained consciousness.

The boy was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.
