Desert Hot Springs man dies at hospital after stabbing

Desert Hot Springs police are looking for answers after a man was stabbed Monday night and later died at the hospital.

Police say they were called to Desert Regional Medical Center on Wednesday morning to investigate a stabbing that occurred in their city. 56-year old Cris Garza was taken to the hospital with stab wounds and he later died from his injuries.

Detectives say they learned that the stabbing occurred at the Vons Shopping Center on Palm Drive late Monday evening. This is Desert Hot Springs 6th homicide of the year.
