Arraignment delayed for teacher accused of having sex with minor
Arraignment was postponed Monday until Aug. 4 for a Palm Springs private school teacher who’s accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl he met via the Internet.
Palm Springs resident Jesse Adam Goff, 34, who teaches at Mojave River Academy, was charged earlier this month with oral copulation with a child under 18, sodomy with a child under 18, sexual penetration with a foreign object and arranging a meeting for sex with a minor, court records show.
Goff was arrested about 6 p.m. April 21 in the 73000 block of Magnesia Falls in Palm Desert, sheriff’s Sgt. Tom Brewster said then.
On Feb. 3, sheriff’s detectives began investigating allegations that a man was having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl at a location in Palm Desert, Brewster said.
Administrators at the private school cooperated with the investigation, according to sheriff’s officials, who said the alleged victim was not a student at the school.
Goff is free on $50,000 bail.
