Police search for 2 men who robbed Indio smoke shop
Indio police are looking for two men who allegedly held up an Indio smoke shop late Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, the RT Smoke Shack, located in the 82000 block of Highway 111 and Oasis Street, was robbed around 2:15 p.m.
A store employee told authorities that two males entered the store when one of the suspects pointed an AR-15 type weapon at the employee, demanding money.
The suspects got away with cash from the register and left the scene in a car. Nobody was hurt during the robbery, officers said.
Description of the suspects:
The first suspect is described as a 17-20 year-old Hispanic male, 100-120 pounds with black hair. He was wearing a black hat and Army “camo” type shorts.
The second suspect is described as a 17-20 year-old white male, 100-120 pounds, with medium length blond hair. He was wearing a long sleeved white shirt and gray shorts.
The Indio Police Department asks anyone who witnessed the robbery to call Valley Crime Stoppers at 760-341-7867.
