Deputies serve 2 search warrants in homicide investigation
Riverside County sheriffs deputies and a SWAT team surrounded a home and shut down traffic in the area of Miles Avenue and Clinton Street early Tuesday morning while serving search warrants related to a homicide investigation in Indio. The activity began around 4 a.m.

According to Deputy Armando Munoz, one of the search warrants was served in the 81-100 block of Miles Avenue.
The sheriff’s department said a warrant was also served at a home on Ozark Drive near Golf Center Parkway. No arrests have been made at this time.
News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 cameras caught two people being detained and placed into a police vehicle at the scene, but officials haven’t elaborated on any potential charges.
The home on Miles Avenue is located near Indio Middle School.
A helicopter circled overhead for more than an hour near Miles Avenue and Clinton Street to help police on the ground. Officers were wearing protective vests and they used an armored vehicle to approach the home.
The area where the activity was underway is known as the Island, an area of unincorporated neighborhoods that are surrounded by the City of Indio.
A neighbor in the area told us, “The house is riddled with diligently drugged-up people who break into other homes in the neighborhood.” Larson said her home was burglarized twice and other homes have been broken into repeatedly.
Police reopened Miles Avenue just west of Clinton Street to traffic as the sun began to rise.
News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 learned Wednesday morning that one man was arrested for homicide during the investigation.
