Palm Springs Art Museum aims to fund archive study center, library
Books were flying off the shelves at the Palm Springs Art Museum’s first book sale.
The museum was selling thousands of new and used books, spanning art, architecture, design, photography and more. It was all in an effort to raise money for the museum’s archive study center and its library.
“The reason we’re raising funds is because our archive study center is about to open and we’re going to be processing a lot of important archival material,” said museum archivist Frank Lopez. “So we need proper housing for that and of course archive materials are very expensive, like boxes and folders and stuff for long term preservation.”
The museum will also use the money to buy additional books to help it become a full research center.
