Women returning to corsets as weight-loss tool

Sales of corsets are soaring!

Much of it because of celebrity promotion and hype. Prices range from $50 to $75 for most waist trainers, where “Shapewear” is offered in a category described as “slimming, shaping and sculpting foundation garments.”

Doctors are skeptical, though, that users may shed pounds while wearing the garment, they are likely just losing water weight due to perspiration.
