Desert AIDS Project receives $3 million donation at Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards

A historic donation for the Desert Aids Project was announced at the 22nd Annual Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards Saturday.

Annette Bloch, longtime philanthropist, donated $3 million to expand medical facilities at D.A.P in Palm Springs to not just care for HIV patients, but also anyone who does not have health insurance.

“I tear up every time I think about this, that I never thought it could happen that we would be living in an era where living with HIV and AIDS is doable,” said honoree Jim Casey.

Desert Aids Project is dedicated to helping people with AIDS and HIV live longer stronger lives. The event has raised millions of dollars for direct client services.

Singer-songwriter Chaka Khan was the headliner, performing some of her hits for the sold out audience.

The awards night is the biggest fundraiser of the year for D.A.P.
