Gas prices going up again in Inland Empire

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose today for the 12th time in 13 days, increasing 1.5 cents to $2.51.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties rose for 10 consecutive days, was unchanged Monday, and increased eight-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 4.5 cents higher than one week ago, but 10.5 cents less than a month ago and 96.1 cents lower than this time last year because the price dropped 71.3 cents during a stretch of 48 decreases in 49 days that immediately preceded the 10-day streak of increases.
