Living Desert guests invited to camp out for ‘Starry Safari’

The Living Desert Zoo has invited guests to stay overnight Friday for a camp out beneath the stars.

The Living Desert will hold the first of 11 “Starry Safaris” scheduled over the next three months, giving guests a close look at what the zoo has to offer. A four-person tent awaits each camper in the zoo’s Tent Village, where guests can get a view of the grounds after dark in the glow of a campfire.

The Starry Safari series will take place Friday and/or Saturday nights through May 28, Living Desert officials said on its website.

The price of admission also includes a continental breakfast and admission into the park the following day. Living Desert members can grab a spot for a tent fee of $72 and $78 admission for each person. Admission is $98 for non-members.

Guests must bring their own sleeping bags and at least one person in each tent must be 21 or older.
