Man arrested for allegedly assaulting girlfriend

The Palm Springs Police Department arrested a man last Wednesday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at a home in the 300 block of S. Calle El Segundo.

Officers said the victim called them at about 11:45 p.m. saying her boyfriend, had just attacked her and she was bleeding from the face. When police arrived, the victim met them outside the home and she had obvious signs of major trauma to her face, according to the release.

She told police that the suspect, 33-year-old Jeremy Rockwell, was asleep on the living room floor. After investigating, officers determined Rockwell did assault his girlfriend and caused major facial and body trauma.

He was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on multiple felony charges:

Threaten Crime With Intent To Terrorize
Assault with deadly weapon, not firearm, causing great bodily injury
Battery with serious bodily injury

Rockwell is being held on no bail and is due in court at the Larson Justice Center in Indio on Tuesday, March 22.
