Man arrested for domestic violence in Coachella

Coachella Police arrested a 33-year-old man around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in response to a domestic violence call.

Officers said Angel Gomez was holding a person against their will inside the home. Police say Gomez surrendered shortly thereafter, and the victim in this case was located inside the home unharmed.

Police arrested Gomez and booked him into the Indio Jail for kidnapping related to domestic violence, false imprisonment and violating a domestic violence restraining order.

Gomez’s bail has been set at $5,000, and is due to be back in court at the Larson Justice Center in Indio on April 13th.
