Students at Stanford call for a more diverse faculty
Students at Stanford University are demanding a more diverse faculty.
They said the ratio of minority and female professors is staggeringly low.
More than 100 students formed a coalition called “Who’s Teaching Us?”
It started in 2014 when a popular Asian-American English professor was denied tenure.
Students recently gave the administration a list of 25 demands.
The list includes mandatory cultural training for all faculty and tenure data to be transparent.
The university responded by setting up six tasks forces on campus to assess the diversity issues.
