No on CV Link and yes on incumbents in Rancho Mirage

Voters in Rancho Mirage are giving incumbents the nod in the race for city council and are saying “no” to the CV Link.

Unofficial results in the mail-in ballot election:

City Council – Choose 2 Candidates:

44.52% Ted Weill(I)

41.09% Richard Kite(I)

14.38% Michael Harrington

Binding Measure 1: Requiring voter approval to overturn Ordinance No. 1099 prohibiting Neighborhood Electric Vehicles on a number of designated streets.

75.72% Yes

24.28% No

Advisory Measure 2: Do you approve of the Coachella Valley Association of Governments spending $100 million dollars or more to construct CV Link and an additional $1.6 million annual to operate and maintain the CV Link?

80.00% No

20.00% Yes

Advisory Measure 3: If CV Link were to be constructed, would you approve the city spending for its share of operatinos and maintenance expenses between $110,300 and $251,800 as of the 9th year of operations?

79.24% No

20.76% Yes

Advisory Measure 4: Should CVAG be allowed to divert up to $20 million dollars from Measure A funds to pay for the construction of the Neighborhood Electric Vehicle portion of the CV Link?

81.55% No

18.45% Yes

The vote totals represent 4,722 ballots counted out of 9,407 that were mailed out to registered voters for a turn-out of 51.84%. Ballots postmarked by today have another 3 days to arrive in Riverside to be counted so the vote totals remain unofficial and will change.
