Earthquake near Idyllwild downgraded to 2.9
The U.S. Geological Survey reported a small earthquake in the mountains near Idyllwild early Wednesday morning.
The USGS initially reported the magnitude as 3.2, but downgraded it to 2.9 afterward. The quake was centered 6.2 miles south-southwest of Idyllwild, and 7.5 miles north-northwest of Anza.
It was reported at 4:41 a.m.
There were no reports of any damage or injuries from the small quake.
There were few reports of any people feeling the quake, but we did receive calls from a handful of viewers in Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert and the La Quinta Cove who said they did feel a small bump.
