Suspected cat burglar arrested in Palm Springs

Police arrested a Palm Springs man on Monday afternoon following a one-month investigation into a home burglary in Rancho Mirage.

The burglary happened on March 10 on Porto Cielo Court. During the investigation, deputies in Palm Desert identified the suspect as 31-year-old Teddy Kaiser Hartwell, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit caught up to Hartwell on April 18 and arrested him in the 500 block of Bon Air Drive in Palm Springs. He was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for cat burglary and is being held on $55,000 bail.

Jail records show Hartwell is facing felony charges for first degree residential burglary and for committing a felony while on bail. He is also charged with a misdemeanor for violating probation.

He’s scheduled to appear in court on June, 14.
