Police pursuit shuts down freeway near Los Angeles Saturday night

A police pursuit in a Los Angeles neighborhood shut down both sides of the 110 freeway for hours.

The pursuit started around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when police saw the man driving erratically on the streets.

According to Police, the driver who has a criminal record, was even taunting officers at one point in the pursuit.

The man, who was seen by witnesses talking on a cellphone, was shot with non-lethal beanbags before officers moved in.

But it was too late for drivers who were caught up in the traffic mess. Some of them were told by police to abandon their cars on the freeway.

Lanes were re-opened shortly after the man’s arrest.
