Woman accused of setting 13 fires in Pinyon Pines on same day
A 52-year-old woman from Mountain Center was arrested at her home on Sunday, June 26, accused of committing several arson fires in Pinyon Pines during a state of emergency.
Traci Farley was arrested by the California Division of Forestry on suspicion of arson of a property, 12 counts of arson of a structure or forest land, and committing arson during a state of emergency.
She’s accused of setting 13 fires all on June 26, said Jody Hagemann with Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
Farley also has a 1983 conviction for arson of an occupied structure in Arizona’s Maricopa County. Farley pleaded not guilty to all charges Wednesday and was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside in lieu of $1 million bail.
She is due in court on July 8 at the Murrieta Southwest Justice Center.
In an unrelated arrest, Gilberto Martinez-Gonzalez, 26, of Moreno Valley was arrested on suspicion of arson, two counts of arson of an inhabited property, possession of an incendiary device, first degree residential burglary, vandalism, and committing arson during a state of emergency.
Martinez-Gonzalez is accused of setting fire to a single family home in Moreno Valley in the early morning on Monday, June 27. CAL FIRE investigators arrested him that same morning on Eucalyptus Avenue in Moreno Valley.
Martinez-Gonzalez was booked at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, where he was being held in lieu of $80,000 bail. He is due in court July 11 at the Riverside Hall of Justice, according to jail records.
