Spending big bucks on back-to-school
Some students in the valley are heading back to class this week and the National Retail Federation says parents are expected to spend up to $500 on school supplies and basic back-to-school necessities this year.
“We’ve wasted over $1,000 in total, including school supplies and clothing,” said Alondra Aviles, a mom in Desert Hot Springs.
Stephanie Riggs says she waits until her daughter’s teacher provides a list for her before she goes shopping to save on any unnecessary purchases.
We found some popular shopping apps to ease the back-to-school budget including, Retail Me Not and Shopular which are free coupon apps that include major retailers. These apps offer coupons and cash back rewards. The apps can be found in the app store.
