Shirtless vandalism suspect pepper sprayed in Palm Springs
The Palm Springs Police Department is looking for a suspect accused of felony vandalism that occurred Monday morning in the 200 block of S. Indian Canyon Drive. The suspect was pepper sprayed by the victim, and officers said it should be pretty easy to identify him because the pepper spray was turquoise in color and would have been all over the the man’s face.
The suspect, described as a white man in his 50’s with an average build and short gray hair, was shirtless at the time, wearing black shorts and riding a red bicycle. Witnesses saw the man smashing out the window of the victim’s vehicle with a rock and scratching anti-Trump wording into the hood of the vehicle, according to police. The incident occurred at about 9 a.m.
The suspect allegedly pulled a knife on the victim when confronted. That’s when the victim pepper sprayed the suspect, leading him to ride away on his bicycle. The suspect was last seen riding southbound on Indian Canyon near Alejo Road.
If you see a man with a turquoise face, be cautious because he’s believed to be armed and dangerous. You should call 911 if you see a man matching the description, according to police.
