All power restored in Coachella

Thousands of customers were left without power after an equipment failure in Coachella occurred Sunday night in the area of Avenue 52.

According to the Imperial Irrigation District, 2,926 customers were affected by the power outage, which happened just after 10 p.m. The power was restored to 2,400 customers in about an hour.

All customers had their power restored by 4 a.m.

Officials said the outage was due to an equipment failure at one of I.I.D.’s substations.
