Rick Springfield cancels Palm Desert concert
A Rick Springfield concert scheduled Wednesday night at the McCallum Theatre has been canceled.
No make-up date has been scheduled, according to McCallum officials, who did not give a reason for the show’s cancellation. But officials at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, where Springfield had been scheduled to perform on Thursday, said that date was scuttled “due to the unforeseen delayed return from his mother’s memorial service in Australia.”
Springfield’s mother, Eileen Springthorpe, died Dec. 21 at the age of 96.
