Tiffany’s Sweet Spot gets ready for Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and one local cupcake shop is supplying sweets for the sweetie in your life. Tiffany’s Sweet Spot is busy preparing their V-day treats.
“We have our signature Valentine’s Day flavors like red velvet, we have a black forrest cupcake, raspberry, strawberry. We do chocolate dipped strawberries, we do heart shaped cinnamon rolls in a pack of two, so it’s kind of romantic,” said owner Tiffany thorpe.
The husband and wife duo behind the sweet shop said working together everyday is the ideal set up. Thorpe said the plan to bake and sell cupcakes was all her husband’s idea.
“He just started creating all these fun and unusual flavors and we got great response so we decided to make it a full time business doing cupcakes,” Thorpe said.
An idea that took them all the way to compete on Cupcake Wars.
“We had to choose the ingredients, in 45 minutes make a cupcake. There’s four teams and at the end the judges taste every cupcake and eliminate based on their least favorite, and we were their least favorite,” Thorpe said.
But that didn’t stop Thorpe from continuing to make cupcakes with her husband.
“When a customer walks in they’re not picking from all these cupcakes that were made six hours prior. They’re getting a cupcake that was just baked because we bake all day. We frost to order and they can take it home and it really tastes fresh,” Thorpe said.
And as soon as the shop opens, customers are flocking in.
“Aesthetically they are beautiful. They taste phenomenal and I feel like they’re just very unique. They really have something to offer for everyone. They have something in every flavor, my 10-year-old loves it and as a 31-year-old I think I might love it a little more,” said Ashley Feroleto.
