Las Casuelas receives entrepreneur award
One of the Valley’s most favorite and legendary restaurants is celebrating 59 years in the desert.
The owners of Las Casuelas Restaurants were honored with the Entrepreneur Achievement award Wednesday.
Coachella Valley SCORE, a non-profit resource partner with the U.S small business administration, and News Channel 3 presented the Delgado family with the award at a congressional breakfast in Rancho Mirage.
Before the Delgados opened Las Casuelas in Palm Springs, the family had a long history cooking traditional Mexican meals, stemming back to the 1900’s in their home town of Mazatlan, Mexico.
With nearly 60 years of service and thousands of jobs provided to Valley locals, Congressman Raul Ruiz, says the Delgados commitment to the Valley is invaluable.
“That’s part of our the grow our own idea that we need to continue to foster where we provide resources and investments and opportunities for our youth and our families here in the desert, so that they can achieve their dreams and provide those opportunities for others,” Ruiz said.
Ruiz and the Delgado family share a special bond, as the family assisted Ruiz through his schooling.
“I am here partly because of their work and my family has had a better life because of the job opportunities that they have given not only to my family but to multiple families around the desert,” Ruiz continued.
Today the Delgados own five Las Casuelas Restaurants Valley-wide.
