Two suspects arrested in shoe store robbery

Two suspects are in police custody and are accused of robbing a shoe store in Coachella at 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday April 26th.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies say a store security guard confronted one of the suspects who was allegedly stealing merchandise from the store.

Sheriff’s Deputies say during a brief struggle, a second suspect, who was armed with a knife aided in the robbery. Both suspects then ran from the store with merchandise.

On Friday during a probation compliance check on the 85000 block of Westfield Way in Coachella, 18-year-old Angel Fernandez and a juvenile were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy.

Fernandez was booked at the Riverside County jail in Indio. The juvenile was booked at Riverside County Juvenile Hall in Indio.

Officers assigned to the Coachella Police Community Action Team work closely with the community and local business to ensure public safety and crime prevention.
