Palm Springs touts rentals enforcement effort

Palm Springs city leaders say their new vacation rental ordinance enforcement measures have been successful since their implementation earlier this year.

The ordinance went into effect April 16, and seeks to crack down on a booming industry that’s also caused many concerns.

Neighbors and some city leaders say short term rental properties have severely reduced the availability of affordable housing, and led to issues with rowdy guests, including noise violations, disorderly conduct, traffic congestion, vandalism and illegal parking.
