Woman’s body found at a Palm Springs hiking trail
PSPD officers found a dead body on a hiking trail in Palm Springs Thursday evening.
Officers found the body of a female in her late 50s on the Lyken hiking trail off of Mesquite Avenue, west of South Palm Canyon Drive at a little past 7:00 p.m. The body was found about five minutes up from the trailhead.
Palm Springs police confirmed with KESQ / CBS Local 2 that the woman was a hiker.
According to Palm Springs police, an investigation did not reveal anything of a criminal nature.
The investigation will be turned over to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, which will also be responsible for releasing the name of the decedent.
