Banning jail inmate dead
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, a 55 year-old inmate at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility suffered a life-threatening medical emergency Friday.
Investigators said facility medical personnel were on scene at the time of the incident, and immediately began life saving efforts.
The man died after being taken to a local hospital.
No foul play is suspected.
An investigation is underway into the inmate’s death.
