One person dead after crash in Mecca

One person is dead after a crash Saturday night in Mecca.

The accident occurred in northbound lane of Highway 86 just north of Avenue 66 just before midnight.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and the name of the victim has not been identified. California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
