CATHEDRAL CITY -Cathedral City officials today advised residents to avoid using Date Palm Drive at Victoria Drive because of a faulty traffic signal, which is expected to be repaired by Tuesday afternoon.
Crews worked today to repair the signal, said city spokeswoman Lynn Mallotto.
During repairs, the intersection will be made into a four-way stop, which is expected to cause lengthy traffic delays, Mallotto said.
The delays are expected between 1:45 p.m. and 3 p.m. when school lets out, and again at rush hour after 5 p.m., according to Mallotto.
Commuters were asked to use alternative routes.
