Police Pleased with Checkpoint Results
The Palm Springs Police Department says it likes the results from a sobriety checkpoint Friday night.
It was conducted on the 2700 block of N. Indian Canyon.
Nearly 650 vehicles were screened, but no drivers were arrested for driving under the influence.
Police officials hope that is the result of their continuing checkpoints, and public awareness about the dangers of drunken driving.
During that checkpoint, officers handed out 18 citations for driver’s license and vehicle code violations.
